What We Do

01.

— We Empower Through Skills

We provide hands-on vocational training in handicrafts, tailoring, beauty culture, and other trades, enabling women, youth, and persons with disabilities to achieve financial independence and dignity.

02.

— We Build Self-Help Groups

We organize and support self-help groups (SHGs) for artisans and local communities, fostering collective growth, shared resources, and stronger voices for social and economic change.

03.

— We Strengthen Education Access

Our initiatives open doors for girls and marginalized children to pursue quality education—offering scholarships, bridge courses, and awareness drives for lifelong learning opportunities.

04.

— We Promote Health & Sanitation

We run sanitation drives, health awareness programs, and family welfare workshops to enhance well-being, prevent disease, and create cleaner, safer neighborhoods.

05.

— We Celebrate and Preserve Crafts

GESWS promotes traditional arts through training, exhibitions, and market linkages for artisans in embroidery, Zari work, appliqué, and soft toys, sustaining heritage and creating livelihoods.

06.

— We Advocate for Inclusion

We champion the rights and welfare of underprivileged groups—engaging in consumer awareness, youth empowerment, and community outreach to ensure no one is left behind.

Impact Stories

Sita’s Journey — From Dreams Deferred to Self-Reliance

At just 15, Sita left school to help her family survive. Through GESWS’s skill training program for girls, she learned tailoring and now produces garments for local customers, supporting her siblings’ education. “With encouragement and the skills I gained, I can stand on my own feet and even inspire others,” shares Sita with pride.

Hope Restored — Empowering Artisans in Aligarh

Many women in Aligarh’s impoverished areas struggled to find work. By joining a GESWS-formed Self Help Group, Rukhsana and her friends learned Zari embroidery and now sell their creations across Uttar Pradesh. “Today, we are not just earning, but respected in our communities,” says Rukhsana. “GESWS gave us dignity and a brighter future.”
